Join the snail mail exchange!

Hi my dear readers. Today is a special day for me, as my blog is now one month old! I really love blogging, I am excited to say that I have already met some wonderful people through this. I can't wait to see what the future holds and to share it all with you!
To celebrate this occasion I had a special something something in mind. I would like to call it the snail mail exchange. Because I know that most people would love to receive some pretty mail every now and then, not just bills, I thought it would be fun to send each other a card and/or letter. Here is how it works:

If you want to participate, please be a follower of this blog.
Leave me your emailadress in a comment.
We exchange homeadresses through email and then the fun starts.

You can choose between three options:
1) Receive a postcard from my hometown
2) Receive a letter from me
3) Receive a postcard and a letter

Whichever of the options you choose, you will have to return the favour. I would love to receive the same from you! And don't worry, we do not have to be life long penpals after this, it's just fun to receive something pretty in the mail right?!
Well, I hope you like this idea as much as I do! Please spread the word about this if you can, whether on your blog or through word of mouth. I would be very thankful. Have a wonderful day my friends and hope you join me in the fun!!

Recipe: Perfect pink drink

And my perfect pink drink is a very healthy one at that! All you need is fruit, vanillasugar, water (or milk) and a blender. Which makes my pink drink: a smoothie. I love smoothies, because they are so darn healthy and just really yummy. The best summerdrink!

Recipe

For two servings:
7 raspberries
2 pears
1 apple
1 sachet of vanillasugar (about 8 grams)
1,5 cup of water or milk (whichever you prefer)
For this I used the small espressocup you can see on the picture.

Cut all the fruit up in small pieces, add the water and sugar. Blend it and enjoy!!

Applause

Hi everyone! Hope your week has been great so far. Yesterday I got to enjoy some sunshine and got to do some crafting. I found these wonderful papers in a local store that I just had to buy. The result is here, paper on a small canvas:
You can see some of the papers on the background. Aren't they awesome!? I hope you like my little canvas, and I would love to hear your opinion. Can't wait to make some more of these!

Advice from a tree

When you read the title you must think I am totally weird. Well, I am a bit. But when I found this online, posted by a friend on FaceBook, I just had to share.
For one, it's very cute (don't you think!?). And it is so true! I must print it out and hang it on my wall. Hopefully it will inspire you too. Have a great day my friends and enjoy the view!

Wishing on a wednesday #1

Sometimes I can send a whole day just dreaming. Daydreaming about what I want to do, where I want to go or what I want to achieve. In this weekly post I will let you in on my daydreaming and post about just that! This morning I was thinking, 'I sure wish I was better at drawing'. As you may have read in this earlier post I did, about my mum's drawings, she is awesome at it. Unfortunately I did not get any of those drawing genes from her. A long time ago I went to some drawingclasses with her, after the first lesson the teacher looked at me with a despair on his face that just said 'you will never learn'. Oh boy, not good for the confidence! So I just stopped drawing, knowing that I am just not good at it (sounds pathetic, but it is not that bad really, I moved on in life haha) But these last months I got bitten by the creativity bug, for real. I just love making things by hand and crafting. So I decided I wanted to do two paintings, of icecreamcones......with faces. And I did, and the result my friends, is here:

So yeah, I basically still suck at drawing! But you know, I had fun making these anyway! So I will just keep trying, and trying. How about you? Are you good at drawing?

DIY: Ruffled icecream cones

Finally the summer has started here in Holland. The sun is out and sun usually means icecream! I found this cute DIY project that I can't wait to do.

You can find the how to and more pictures over at the awesome Icing Designs website. You will totally get inspired to throw a party, so beware! Do let me know if you intend to make these, I love to see some results! Have a happy monday everyone!

Owlring and baby rhino

Hi everyone, as promised I will post some pictures today of my trip to Amersfoort. It was a really wonderful day, but not to much sunshine unfortunately! I didn't get to see that much of the Amersfoort citycentre, but me and my friend already promised each other we would go back again soon. We stayed in the citycentre for about 1,5 hours and did some shopping and visited a small market. Then it was off to the zoo. The zoo was very nice, lots of beautiful animals (including a newborn rhino), and the overall lay out was just very pretty with lots of space and trees. And ofcourse the awesome dino forest! Very cool to see that. Hope you all enjoy the pictures!

I bought some supercute jewelry: an owlring, bunny necklace and bracelet with Paris charms.
                                                      Then off to the zoo!

And the pretty surroundings at the zoo.

Away for a day

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good week. Tomorrow I won't be able to post a new entry, because I am off on a daytrip! Me and a good friend of mine are going to a dutch city called Amersfoort. To do some shopping, have lunch in a nice lunchroom and go to the local zoo. I am looking forward to it alot and what's best: the weatherforecast is nice for tomorrow! We have had alot of rain this week, so some sunshine would be very much appreciated. I will post pictures of my trip on sunday. Have you got any nice plans for the weekend?

Summer dress; baby blue

Can you be in love with an item of clothing? If so, then I am in love with this dress from Dorothy Perkins. I love the wonderful shape and that colour! Baby blue! The little belt is a totally cute finish. This would look great with the awesome bag in my post on a coral and navy summer outfit. What do you think ladies?

Places I have been: South Germany

In the late spring of 2010 me and my parents took a holiday to the south of Germany. This was going to be the first time for me to see huge mountains! I couldn't wait, when we got in the car and left home, to see them. It was a long drive, but for us the drive to the destination is always part of the holiday. We take many breaks on the way and have lunch or picnics whenever we can! So when we were finally nearing the south of Germany and I could already see some mountains in the distance, I was so happy. In the two weeks that followed I got to see many beautiful mountains and just breathtaking landscapes. We also visited Austria a few times as part of the daytrips we took. Ofcourse this post is nothing without pictures, so here wo go!

Back in the day; drawings from the past

My mum is awesome. There, I said it. Why she is awesome? Well, she is my mum and that fact alone is worth that title hahaha. But in all seriousness. My mum is amazing at drawing and painting. She started at a very young age with drawing and luckily she also saved some of those drawings. I am very happy to share these with you. My mum drew these when she was about 12 years old!

I also created a website with my mum's art and drawings. So if you like what you see or want to learn a bit more about my mum and her art, please visit this website.

A biketrip in pictures

Yesterday the weather started of very dreary and with rain. Luckily it changed in the afternoon, so me and my parents decided to make use of this sudden burst of sunshine and take a short biketrip. Even though I life in a big city there are still some very nice spots where you can enjoy nature. Along the way I took some pictures. I hope you like them!

This last picture shows the Dutch glass houses where fruit, flowers and vegetables grow. Let's hope the summer is going to be a good one, because I would love to make many more trips like these!

It's a first for me to make cards and I would like to share the endresuslt with you. The design of the cards is quite simple, due to it being my first time! Do hope you like these.

I had alot of fun making them, so I will defenitely be making more very soon. The craftingbug has bitten me. What have you been doing this weekend? And do you like crafting? Let me know in the comments, would love to hear from you!

Summer outfit: marine/navy and coral

I absolutely love this combination of the marine/navy style and wonderful coral. Perfect outfit for a nice summer day, stroll down the beach and sip a cold beverage. Shoes in hand, not on feet haha. Heels are way too high, but they look great none the less. When it gets colder just throw on the blazer and off for a night out.

A gift? A cupcake!

For my sisters birthday I wanted to do something different. Not your average gift. Because I had been baking alot of cupcakes I thought I would make some especially for her. I am really happy with how they turned out, hope you like them too!

Can I be in Gryffindor please?

I saw this survey on Sinead's awesome blog called Sinead in the sun. As a big Harry Potter fan I could not resist. So here are my answers. Feel free to steal and take the survey yourself!

1. If you went to Hogwarts which house would you be sorted in?
Probably Hufflepuff, but I would convince the sortinghat I should go in Gryffindor!

2. Have you ever been to the HP midnight release?
No I haven't. I am not much of a nightowl I guess.

3. What did you think of the Deathly Hallows?
Love it! A great end to a brilliant story.

4. How many times have you reread the books?
Not many times really, but about 3 or 4 times. In both English and Dutch

5. Whose death was the saddest?
Dobby and Fred ofcourse. But most sad are Lupin and Tonks L

6. If you went to Hogwarts would you rather have an owl, a cat, or a rat?
Owl, for sure! One as cool as Hedwig!

7. What do you think of the movie Half-Blood Prince?
Awesome, love the story on Snape. One of my faves!

8. What do you think of the Deathly Hallows being split in two?
Good decision, more HP and more details. It deserved two movies.

9. Have you read the Tales of Beedle the Bard?
Yes, I bought it and that the stories were really nice!

10. When did you first become a Potter fan?
After the first movie. Thought Harry and the whole world of magic were amazing.

Favourite…

Female character?
Luna and Molly Weasly

Male character?
Harry! But I have a weakness for Draco too.

Professor?
                                                                  Lupin and Lockhart

Death Eater?
Lucius Malfoy, so wickedly evil but sexy at the same time….uh yeah.

Magical creature?

Hyppogryf  (how is that spelled anyway!?)

Spell?
Lumos, Bombarda and Accia

Book?
Half Blood Prince!

Movie?
All of them but I especially love 4, 5 and 6

Hogwarts House?
Gryffindor

Place?
The Gryffindor Commonroom

Weasley?
Molly, she kicks ass.

Couple?
Tonks and Lupin, too sweet!

                                                                                 This or that…

Gryffindor or Slytherin?
Gryffindor

Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff?
Hufflepuff

Fred or George?
Uuhm, both. They are just awesome as a pair!

Ginny or Luna?
Luna, I don’t really like Ginny. And I love the fact the Luna is a bit weird and different.

Butterbeer or Firewhiskey?
Butterbeer sounds awesome.

Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade?
Hogsmeade.

Books or Movies?
Both! But because it started with the books, I will go with books.

Half Blood Prince or Deathly Hallows?
Ah, how can I pick? Not fair! Love both damnit!

Sorcerer’s Stone or Chamber of Secrets?
Chamber of secrets, it is technically advanced and the actors are better. But  I love the first one too, cause that is where it all started. With Harry in the broomcloset.

Lupin or Sirius?
Lupin, my fave teacher. Such a sweet man.

Harry/Ginny or Harry/Hermione?
Harry and Ginny. Though I am not a fan of Ginny. Hermione and Ron is the way to go.

Lavender Brown or Parvati Patil?
Parvati. Lavender sucks haha. No just kidding.

Seamus Finnigan or Dean Thomas?
Both too adorable!

Kreacher or Dobby?
Dobby, without a doubt.

Dan or Rupert?
Dan is my man :D

Bellatrix or Narcissa?
Bellatrix is evil and crazy, but she is awesome in doing the evil thing.

Voldemort or Tom Riddle?
Tom, as Sinead also mentioned in her blog: Tom is hot!

Hedwig or Crookshanks?
Hedwig, not a catperson and love owls!

Picture perfect

In my local park there is this beautiful flowergarden. I love going there, just walking around and taking pictures while enjoying all the flowers. Because I live in a big city, places like these make me feel very happy and calm. I love my city alot, but sometimes it is just nice to hide away in nature!

And a picture of me (sort of) trying to capture the bees on camera!
